Lowman Law Firm is proud to sponsor the Hernando Bar 5K and 10K event, which takes place on March 20, 2021 at the Weeki Wachee Preserve.

The location of the preserve is at 2345 Osowaw Blvd., Spring Hill, FL 34607. The race times begin at 7:30 am for the 10K and 8:00 am for the 5K.

We are so excited about this event because it addresses one of the most important issues for aspiring young professionals and students — the rising cost of education.

Tuition rates are going up at a faster rate than the costs of housing, medical services, and child care. The net price of attending a public four-year college has more than doubled since 2000. Simply put, tuition inflation is ballooning.

This inflation is impacting students all across the nation, including those right here in Florida.

The Cost of Education in Hernando County

For those local students in the Spring Hill area, there are some great opportunities to pursue undergraduate programs, most notably PHSC.

Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) is the newest four year state college in Florida, with campuses throughout all of Pasco County and Hernando County. They offer five locations in the following cities:

  • Brookesville
  • Dade City
  • New Port Richey
  • Spring Hill
  • Wesley Chapel

The estimated annual price to attend PHSC is $15,397 for in-state students. Fortunately, there are plenty of financial opportunities for aspiring students. In fact, 45 percent of enrolled undergraduate students at PHSC received grants and scholarships.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Lowman Law Firm is helping Hernando County students attend college by sponsoring the upcoming Hernando Bar 5K and 10K.
