Dan Geraghty is an accomplished attorney with extensive experience litigating cases. Dan started his legal career as a prosecutor at the State Attorney’s Office for the Fifth Judicial Circuit. He spent almost a decade as a prosecutor and the last four years were spent prosecuting special victims’ cases, homicides – including traffic-related fatalities and murder cases, and 10-20-life gun crime cases.
Over the course of his career, Dan successfully brought over 65 cases to jury verdict, trying challenging special victims’ cases, murders and traffic homicides, as well as habitual and violent career offenders, securing fifty life sentences and countless lengthy prison sentences amongst those cases.
Dan was recognized the past two years for successfully trying the most jury trials for the State Attorneys Office and successfully convicting numerous offenders for murder and special victims offenses involving sexual predators. Dan achieved an extremely high conviction rate at trial by taking challenging cases and focusing on the critical details and story telling to help jurors understand the complex facts and investigations to see justice attained.
Prior to joining the legal field, Dan worked in both Higher Education and K-12 Education for over 15 years supporting students and training faculty. Dan moved from Orlando to Brooksville in 2020 with his wife and three daughters and is active locally with the Hernando Youth League sports and supporting his older children that compete in sports and in marching band at Weeki Wachee High School.
